Career Highlights
Rode is transferring to SCCC from the University of California (Berkeley, Calif.) where she spent her freshman year. While in high school, Rode was a five year starter, starting on varsity since her 8th grade year for the largest high school in New Mexico. Rode led Rio Rancho to five State Tournament appearances including three semi-final finishes. In her senior season, Rode earned 5A Player of the Year and Albuquerque Tribune Player of the Year honors. In 2004, Rode scored 41 points in the East-West All-Star Game, earning All-Star Game Most Valuable Player honors. Rode was named four-time All-District, three-time All-Metro, three-time All-State and two-time Gatorade Player of the Year (2002 & 2004). Rode was a Street & Smith Magazine Honorable Mention All-American selection in 2003 & 2004. Her senior year Rode averaged, 19 points, 6.1 assists, 5.4 rebounds and three steals per game. As a junior, she averaged 19.7 points and five rebounds per game and as a sophomore averaged 14.8 points and 4.3 assists per game. Rode was the first player ever at Rio Rancho H.S. to score 1,000 career points and is the Rio Rancho career leader in, career scoring (just shy of 2,000), free throws made, three-point field goals made and is second all-time in assists and steals.
