KEONI WATSON JOINS 1,000 POINT CLUB AS SEWARD COUNTY DEFEATS PRATT COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Sophomore Keoni Watson scored 25 points, moving into the 1,000 point club asSeward County defeated Pratt Community College 88-81,
Wednesday night at the Green House. The Saints (19-7, 8-4 in the Jayhawk West) are currently in second place in the Jayhawk West, three games behind first place Garden City Community College (18-7, 10-1).
Watson, a 5'10" shooting guard from San Diego, California, shot 10-of-21 from the field and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in his 25 point assault on Pratt last night. Watson also dished out nine assists in the Saints seven point victory.

Keoni Watson scored 25 points Wednesday night, making him the 9th player in the Seward County history to score 1,000 career points.
Seward County defeated Pratt at home 88-81.

The Saints had nine players who scored last night including four players scoring in double figures. Seward County shot 30-for-63 from the field (.476%) and had their best night this season at the free throw line hitting 23-of-28 (.821%) shots from the charity stripe.
Adam Tanner grabbed 15 total rebounds last night including 14 defensive boards. The Melbourne, Australia native also scored 11 points to complete the double/double. Sophomore point guard Kyle Smith scored 15 points, on 3-of-6 from three-point range. Smith has a team high 42 three-point field goals this season. Sophomore swingman Brian McCarther added 14 points, eight rebounds and was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Seward County stayed consistent last night in playing strong defense and defending the three-point shot. The Saints lead the 19 team Jayhawk Conference in 3-point percentage defense, allowing opponents to shoot only .263 % from three-point range. Last night the Saints held Pratt 7-for-26 (.269 %) from long range.

The Saints have a big contest coming up on Saturday night, as they host Garden City the No. 1 team in the Jayhawk Conference. Garden City defeated the Saints 83-78 in Garden City on Jan. 23. In their first contest Broncbusters forward B.J. Walker was unstoppable scoring 23 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. The Jayhawk Conference leading scorer Torre Johnson (21.1 ppg.) also had a big game against the Saints, scoring 18 points.
The No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown is also the Saints Homecoming Game this Saturday night, in the Green House. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
