KEONI WATSON NAMED NJCAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Seward County Saints leading scorer Keoni Watson, was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Player of the Week for men’s basketball.

Watson, a 5'10" shooting guard from San Diego, California, led the Saints (20-7, 9-4) to a 2-0 week with wins over Pratt Community College (88-81) and Jayhawk West leader Garden City Community College (83-76). Against Pratt, Watson had 25 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and one steal. In the upset victory over Garden City, on SCCC Homecoming Night, Watson finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and one steal.
Watson averaged 21.5 points, 8.5 assists, 7.5 rebounds and one steal per game this week

For the week (Feb. 14-19) Watson averaged 21.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1 steal per game. From the floor he shot 50% (17-of-34). Watson ranks 30th nationally with 17.8 ppg and 49th nationally with 4.16 assists per game. In the Jayhawk Conference Watson ranks 5th in scoring, 8th in assists and 9th in steals per game (2.04).

The Saints are in Concordia, Kansas, for tonight's match-up with the third place Cloud County Community College Thunderbirds (14-12, 7-6 in the Jayhawk West).
