This years recruiting class is highlighted by four players who have played on State Championship teams while in high school and five players who received All-State recognition. Among these players Carlin Witten, Theron Wilson and Hank Harris have been invited to play in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA) All-Star Game in August. Whitten has great size and strength under the basket and can also shoot. He averaged 20 points and eight rebounds a game as a senior at

Whitten was teammates with A.J. Allen, another Saints recruit at Wichita East High School when they won the 6A State Championship this past season.

If the name sounds familiar it should, assistant coach Hank Harris has signed his son to come aboard next season to provide plenty of talent at the point guard position. Harris was a standout point guard at Topeka Highland Park during his high school career. Harris is the complete package when it comes to scoring, passing, defending and being a team player that makes others around him play at a higher level. As a senior Harris averaged 12 points, three rebounds and five assists. This past season Harris was named Third Team 5A All-State, Second Team All-City, Second Team All-Centennial League and he was awarded Centennial League Defensive Player of the Year. Harris and Wilson were teammates on the 2004 State Championship team at Topeka Highland Park.

Martrelle Patterson 6’1” 170 Guard Liberal,

Patterson, the former Liberal Redskin provided plenty of highlights the last four years while wearing the Liberal H.S. Red and Black on the track and on the basketball court. Patterson was named First Team All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and was an Honorable Mention 5A All-State selection. Patterson is young for his age (17 years old) and has natural athletic ability that will allow him to excel at the next level in junior college basketball. Patterson is also a star triple jumper at

helped lead Wichita Southeast to a third place finish at the State Basketball Tournament.Tyler was also the Slam Dunk Champion at the Valley Center Dunk Contest. Additionally, he was named All-Tournament team last season at the Tip Off Classic in Emporia.

Raymond Woods 6’5” 195 Forward

Woods is one of two out of state players the Saints have signed for next season. Woods will help fill the middle of the lane with a large frame and will also look to score for the Saints. Woods was named First Team All Metro East and First Team All-City while at
East St. Louis
High School
. Woods averaged 11 points, 10 rebounds and two assist per game last season. Woods is a tremendous rebounder that will grab plenty of boards for the Saints next season.
- Coach Brown on Woods: “Raymond Woods is a tough inside player that can step out and shoot it. He runs the floor exceptionally well and can rebound with anyone. Woods will be very effective at the high and low posts.”
Keith Spencer 6’7” 205 Forward

Spencer was introduced to

when he signed his letter of intent at the 2005 Seward County Athletics Banquet. Head Coach Dave Brown introduced Spencer to the crowd of nearly 300 people in attendance before Spencer signed the dotted line to become a Saint. Spencer will give the Saints another strong down low presence and also a player who can step out of the paint and make mid range jump shots. Spencer averaged 12 points and nine rebounds per game his senior season of high school. Spencer comes to SCCC from
