SCCC SAINTS CAN’T HOLD ON AGAINST DODGE CITY ON THE ROAD
In a hard fought battle the Seward County Saints lost on the road against Dodge City Community College 71-68 Monday night. The Saints (12-4, 1-1) led at half time by six points and were leading in the second half but couldn’t hold on against a strong Dodge City (9-5, 1-0) team who opened their conference schedule last night at home with an impressive win over the Saints.

The Saints and Conqs got into a scuffle late in the second half that did lead to four technical fouls and one ejection. Saints freshman guard Jerrell Green was tagged with the ejection and sophomore Keoni Watson and freshman Raynard Sawyer were given technical fouls for the Saints.

The Saints loss to Dodge City snapped their seven game winning streak and also gave them their first conference loss of the season. The Saints will travel Wednesday to Pratt Community College to take on the Beavers in the Beaver Dome. Pratt is currently tied with Garden City for first place in the Jayhawk West Conference. The Beavers are 9-7 overall and 2-0 in the Jayhawk West. Pratt has conference victories over Barton County (69-55) and a win against 2004 Jayhawk West Champions Hutchinson Community College (78-69).
