DAVE BROWN WINS 200TH GAME AS SEWARD COUNTY HEAD COACH
Seward County Saints Head Coach Dave Brown hit a milestone Wednesday night as his Saints (15-4, 4-1 in the Jayhawk West) defeated Cloud County 75-62.

Dave Brown wins his 200th Game as Head Coach of the Saints
Brown, in his ninth season as head coach at Seward County, won game No. 200 in which three Saints scored in double figures in a team effort defeating a scrappy Cloud County (10-8, 3-2 in the Jayhawk West) team that stayed in the game till midway through the second half.

Sophomore guard Keoni Watson put on another show last night as he scored 19 points with five assists. Freshman, Adam Tanner also played strong inside scoring 17 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

The Saints shot well from the floor as they were 26-for-59 from the field (.441) and handled the ball well committing only nine turnovers. Watson was the leading contributor in many Saints fast break situations as he capitalized on two Jerrell Green steals converting both for easy lay-ups.

Dave Brown
In 1996-97, Brown’s first season as head coach the Saints went 15-16. It was only a year later when Brown led his team to the most wins a Seward County men’s team has ever won when they finished 3rd in the NJCAA with a final record of 35-3. Early in the 2000-2001 season, Brown won his 100th game as head coach at Seward County and it has only taken Brown four years since to win game No. 200.

Brown has an overall record of 200-82 (.709 winning %). Brown is also nearing another 20 win season, which will be the Saints seventh time doing so since Brown took over in 1996-1997.

The Saints will travel this Sunday to Garden City (12-6, 4-0 in the Jayhawk West) for a No. 1 verses No. 2 Jayhawk West showdown starting at 4:00 p.m. The Saints will look to give Garden City their first conference loss of the season.
