NO. 8 SEWARD COUNTY SAINTS AT. COLBY TROJANS
The Seward County men’s basketball team will travel to Colby on Sunday, January 15, taking on Colby Community College at 4:00 p.m. at the Colby Community Building .

The No. 8 Saints (15-2, 1-2) will try and get back on a winning-streak after consecutive losses to Butler C.C. (63-62) on the road, and suffering their first loss at the Green House this season losing to Pratt C.C. 91-81, Wednesday night.

In three conference games, the Saints have seen offensive productivity from leading scorers Jerrell Green (16.7 ppg.), Michael Tyree (14.3 ppg.), Adam Tanner (13.3 ppg.) and Theron Wilson (10.0 ppg.) but the only player coming-off the bench that is averaging more than three points per game is Tyree.

Last season, the Saints and the Trojans split their conference match-up’s with both teams winning at home. The Saints defeated Colby 64-62, on a last second basket at home and were defeated on the road, 85-79.

This season the Trojans have played up-and-down in conference play dropping a tight game at home to Garden City 83-79, losing by 17 points at Cloud County (90-73) and then defeating Barton County (14-3) at home, 88-86.

Seward County will have to try and contain Trojan guard, Nate Bowie, who averages 22.3 points per game (ppg.) which leads the Region VI. Bowie is a deadly three-point shooter, hitting 43-of-106 three-point shots this year (.406 %). Bowie (6’0”) also averages 4.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game.
