DEPLETED SAINTS DROP FOURTH STRAIGHT CONFERENCE GAME
The Seward County Community College men’s basketball team dropped their fourth consecutive Jayhawk West game last night, 64-50 to

at the Arley Bryant Gymnasium in Concordia. The Saints (15-4, 1-4) were without four players who did not make the trip with the team due to disciplinary reasons.
Seward County had nine players suited up for Wednesday night’s game as SCCC was without starters Theron Wilson (6’5”) and Keith Spencer (6’8”) and reserve players Mark Hall (6’8”) and Raymond Woods (6’5”) who were in Liberal and not with the team in Concordia.
The Saints did however make it a competitive game early as the Saints jumped out to a 14-8 lead. In a low scoring first half, the Thunderbirds (13-5, 3-2) came back to take a 24-19 lead going into half-time.
Saints starting center, Adam Tanner, was the lone SCCC player who stood over 6-foot 4-inches and it showed as

54-32. Tanner grabbed a team high 10 rebounds and scored 12 points to go along with his team-best three steals while playing in all 40 minutes last night.
Starting guard, Brandon Cornwell, scored 12 points with six rebounds and power forward, Carlin Whitten, scored nine points with five rebounds in 27 minutes of action.
Seward County was limited to a 1-for-14 (071 %) shooting night from three-point land as Cornwell hit the Saints only three-point basket.
Cloud
County
was led by Geremey Gibson who had a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Thunderbird big-man, Cassin Digs (6’10”), scored a game-high 17 points (7-for-16) with eight rebounds.
The Saints will be back at the Green House Saturday, Jan. 21 at 8:00 p.m. hosting Garden City Community College. The Broncbusters (13-4, 2-2) were idle on Wednesday, and are entering the Green House with conference victories this season over
Hutchinson
(59-58) and Colby (83-79).
