The Saints improve to 17-5 overall (3-5 Jayhawk West) while Barton County falls to 15-7 overall (3-5 Jayhawk West) as the Saints held Barton County’s leading scorer, Chris Berry, to just five points (20.2 ppg.) before he fouled out of the game.
Tyree was unstoppable in the second half from behind the three-point line. Tyree scored just three points in the first half before scoring 13 points in the second half on 4-of-6 shooting from the field and 2-of-3 shooting from three-point land. Tyree’s 16 points led all scorers and Saints center, Adam Tanner also had a big second half scoring 13 of his 15 points in the second frame.
Another Cougar the Saints tamed immensely was Ivan Evans, who is averaging 15 points and 8.6 rebounds per game in his seven games this season. Evans scored just nine points, which makes

County
0-5 this season when Evans is held under 20 points. Additionally, when Evans scores 20 points or more,

is a perfect 3-0.
Perhaps the most impressive performance for the Saints came from Cornwell, who scored 11 points (4-for-12) grabbed eight rebounds and dished out six assists in 27 minutes of play. Cornwell is now averaging 8.4 points per game during his sophomore campaign for the Saints.
SCCC freshman, Theron Wilson had a tough night shooting from the field (3-for-10) but was able to collect a double-double, scoring 12 points and chipping in 10 rebounds.
The Saints finish the first half of conference play with a 3-5 record, placing the Saints in a four-way tie for sixth place in the Jayhawk West Conference.
Seward County will begin the second half of conference play against the team they opened the 2006 portion of their schedule against, first place Dodge City Community College (16-6, 6-2).
