GET BEAT AT DODGE CITY, 87-69
The Seward County Community College men’s basketball team dropped their fifth Jayhawk West Conference road game yesterday, at the hands of first-place Dodge City Community College 87-69, at the Dodge City Civic Center. The Saints (17-6, 3-6) are now 0-5 this season on the road in conference competition.
At half-time the game had yet to become a blow out with the Saints trailing Dodge City by just one-point (30-29). In the second-half the Conquistador’s ran past

with the help of sharp shooter, Jake Sims, who knocked down 7-of-9 from three-point range while scoring a game-high 25 points.
Also in the second-half, the Saints went ice-cold from three-point range, going 0-for-12 from long range as a team. In the game the Saints shot just 14 percent from downtown (3-for-21).
Seward
County
leaned on big-man Adam Tanner for most of their offensive support. Tanner turned in a team-best 24 points (7-for-13 field goals) and shot an impressive 10-for-11 from the free-throw line. Tanner is averaging 15.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this season.

(17-6, 7-2) bench outscored
Seward
County
20-10, as all five Conq’s who came off the bench scored points last night.
The Saints did force 17
Dodge City
turnovers but were out rebounded 46-30, by the first-place Conquistador’s.
Other top performers for the Saints last night were Theron Wilson (10 points, 10 rebounds) and Keith Spencer (10 points, three rebounds).
Wilson
notched his second straight double-double (points & rebounds) last night in 33 minutes of play.
Seward
County
will be at home on Wednesday, February 8, taking on
Butler
Community College
at the Green House. The Saints lost to the Grizzlies on Jan. 7 at the Power Plant in El Dorado, 63-62.
Seward
County
and Butler C.C. (15-8, 4-5) will tip-off at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.
