The Saints (1-0, 0-0) started four sophomores and one freshman against

with all returning players (Brandon Cornwell, Adam Tanner and Jerrell Green) scoring at least nine points in 22 minutes played. Cornwell (4-for-7 shooting) and Green (2-for-6 shooting) scored nine points along with big man, Adam Tanner scoring 15 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Saints sophomore newcomer, Keith Spencer, had a strong Saints debut scoring 11 points and completing a double-double with a team-high 10 rebounds.

had a strong showing from their talented freshman group with three players scoring in double figures.

Freshman shooting guard, A.J. Allen, scored a team-high 16 points and led all players with four steals. Freshman swing man, Theron Wilson, from Topeka Highland Park H.S. scored 14 points (5-for-8 field goals) with three rebounds, two assists and two steals. The Saints also saw big time production from freshman, Carlin Whitten, a 6’2” power forward from
Wichita
, scoring 10 points and pulling down 10 rebounds in only 18 minutes of playing time.
