ADAM TANNER NAMED NJCAA 2005-2006 PRE-SEASON ALL-AMERICAN
It has been announced that
Seward
County
Community College
sophomore, Adam Tanner, has been named a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Men’s Basketball Pre-Season Honorable Mention All-American.
The 6’8” Australia native was among the top players listed as pre-season All-American’s in the 2005-2006 NJCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Media Guide.
Last season, Tanner had verbally agreed to leave
Seward
County
after his first season of eligibility (2004-2005) to transfer to
San Diego
University
. Plans changed for Tanner and with him back in the Saints line-up,
Seward
County
will have an experienced leader who averaged 11.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last season.
Only three players from the Region VI were tabbed Pre-Season All-Americans as Corey Bailey (
Butler
Community College
) and Stanley Billings (
Independence
) were both named to the Pre-Season First Team.
Seward
County
has started the season undefeated (3-0) and Tanner leads the Saints in six offensive categories. Tanner is currently averaging 17.3 points and 7.3 rebounds along with a .690 shooting percentage from the field (20-for-29).
