Sanders played for Saints Head Coach, Dave Brown, in 1999-2000, where he was named First Team Jayhawk West All-Conference and led the Saints to a 23-9 overall record.
The Spurs began this season 3-1, but did so with several players heading to the disabled list with injuries. The Spurs signed Sanders to a contract that has not been released.
Sanders spent the entire pre-season with the Spurs averaging 6.3 points, 2.6 assists and 0.9 rebounds in 14.9 minutes per game. Sanders was released by the Spurs on Oct. 26, after playing in eight pre-season contests.
Sanders played his best game as a pro against the
Philadelphia
76ers on Oct. 12, when he scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds and had three steals in 27 minutes of action. Sanders spent this past summer with the Spurs summer league team at the Rocky Mountain Revue, where he averaged 15.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game.
Wednesday night Sanders made his NBA regular season debut playing four minutes, grabbing two rebounds and was 0-for-1 shooting from the field.
Last year Sanders was named Second Team All-CBA and First Team Defensive All-CBA, playing for the Dakota Wizards.
