men’s basketball team defeated Allen County Community College, 77-64 this morning in the Jayhawk Shootout in

. The Saints (11-0) defeated
Allen
County
(6-3) with a team-high 19 points from freshman, Theron Wilson, in the first game of the two day Shootout.
The Saints received a No. 9 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) ranking earlier this week, making the Saints the highest ranked team in the Jayhawk Shootout this weekend. All Jayhawk West teams are playing Jayhawk East men’s basketball teams this weekend in one of the most highly recruited Shootouts in the nation.

came into their game against the Saints as the top defensive team in the Region VI allowing their opponents just 52.9 points per game.
Wilson, a 6’5” freshman from
Topeka
,
Kan.
, is one of the top freshmen in the Region this season.
Wilson
scored 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field, grabbing five rebounds. Wilson scoring 14 points in the first-half.
The Saints had four players in double-figures in scoring with Wilson (19 points), Jerrell Green (16 points), Brandon Cornwell (14 points) and Keith Spencer (12 points) all leading the way for
Seward
County
in their 11th win this season.
Seward
County
shot 42 % from the field (26-for-62) while
Allen
County
shot 52 % (22-for-42). The Saints were 24-for-35 (69 %) from the free-throw line while the Red Devils made just 16-for-27 from the line.
The Saints forced
Allen
County
to commit 19 turnovers while SCCC turned the ball over just 11 times in the game.
Tomorrow, the Saints will face
Fort
Scott
