Seward
County
posted their second victory this season over a ranked opponent on Wednesday night, with a 79-71 victory at the Green House against No. 11 Barton County C.C. The win was important for several reasons, one, it snapped a two game losing streak, two, it moved the Saints into a two-way tie for sixth place, and three, it was career win No. 250 for 11th year head coach

The Saints defeated
Barton
County
with a balanced attack shooting 41 percent from the field, out-rebounding the Cougars 41-35, and hitting 73 percent of their foul shots (18-for-24). Michael Tyree led the Saints with 16 points, and point guard
Hank Harris
tallied a career-high 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field. Freshman forward Darko Cohadarevic played his first game since Jan. 28, and was effective coming off the bench with eight points, and shooting 2-of-3 from three-point range. Sophomore Theron Wilson continued his double-double onslaught with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Wilson
has now recorded double-doubles in his last seven conference games.
Freshman guard Nick Burns also had a strong game scoring 12 points (6-for-6 from free throw line), giving him six double-figure scoring games this season.
Butler
has been up-and-down throughout the conference schedule. The Grizzlies do have impressive wins on their conference resume’ against Garden City C.C. (88-82) at the
Perryman
Center
, and against Pratt C.C. (60-57) at home. Wednesday night marked a conference series sweep for
Butler
over Colby C.C. with an 80-70 win at the
Colby
Community
Building
. In eight conference losses,
Butler
has yet to score over 69 points in a single game. In their four league victories, the Grizzlies have posted at least 80 points in three-of-four contests.
Since 2000-2001,
Seward
County
leads the head-to-head series 8-5. The Saints and Grizzlies are tied 3-3 at the Power Plant, and the Saints hold a 5-2 advantage at the Green House.
