AARON KALLHOFF NAMED SCCC ASSISTANT COACH
The Seward County Community College men’s basketball program and Head Coach Dave Brown have announced the hiring of Aaron Kallhoff as assistant men’s basketball coach. Kallhoff joins the Saints basketball program after spending three seasons as the assistant men’s basketball coach at
Allen
County
Community College
(
Iola
,
Kan.
) in the Jayhawk East Conference.
The Saints are coming off a 21-10 overall record in 2005-2006, where at one point they were ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA Top 20 poll. In 2005-2006,
Seward
County
finished in a tie for fifth place in the Jayhawk West Conference and made a Region VI Tournament First Round appearance.

Kallhoff spent three seasons at
Allen
County
coaching under Red Devil Head Coach, Michael Hayes. From 2003-2006, Kallhoff helped lead the
Allen
County
basketball program to 44 wins, including two berths in the Region VI Tournament “Elite Eight”.
Kallhoff helped developed five players that transferred to NCAA Division I basketball programs from
Allen
County
. In three seasons, Kallhoff coached four Jayhawk East All-Conference selections, two NJCAA All-Region VI picks and one JUCO All-American.
Working primarily with the Red Devil post-players Kallhoff mentored 6 foot-5 inch, Andrew Washington (Jayhawk East M.V.P.) who transferred to Delaware University, and 6 foot-9 inch, Antoine Tisby, a 2003-2004 All-Region VI Tournament performer who averaged 21 points and 13 rebounds, before transferring to the University of South Carolina. Kallhoff’s latest prodigy, Terrance Gamble (6’11”), collected 149 blocked shots last season, ranking third all-time in Region VI men’s basketball history.
In 2003, Kallhoff graduated from Bemidji State University (Bemidji, Minn.) earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mass Communications emphasizing in Public Relations/Advertising and Electronic Media. While at
Bemidji
State
, Kallhoff represented the university as a chairman for the Special Olympics and the United Way Foundation. Additionally, Kallhoff was involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Kallhoff had a tremendous playing career beginning in 1998 when he was tabbed Nebraska High School Player of the Year at Norfolk Catholic H.S., where he averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds per game during his senior season. Kallhoff began his collegiate playing career at Iowa Central C.C. where he led the NJCAA D-II Iowa Region in three-point field goal percentage (47 %). In 2000, Kallhoff earned All-Region IX athletic and academic honors at Northeast Nebraska C.C. averaging 14 points per game. Kallhoff completed his playing career at
Bemidji
, where he was a two year starting guard and in his senior season led the nation (NCAA D-II) in assists/turnover ratio (4.7).
A native of Norfolk, Nebraska, Kallhoff graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School in 1998.Kallhoff and his wife, Josie, have been married for one year and reside in Liberal.
