SAINTS WENDY’S CLASSIC PREVIEW
The Seward County Community College men’s basketball team will host the Wendy’s Classic this weekend at the Green House. The three men’s teams joining the Saints this weekend are
Clarendon
College

Pratt
Community College
and Trinidad State College.
Seward
County
will be in action Nov. 17-18, with games against Trinidad State College (Friday) and Clarendon College (Saturday). The Saints will play both nights at 8:00 p.m. There will be games played at the Green House on Friday and Saturday at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets to the Wendy’s Classic are free and are available at the Liberal Wendy’s location while tickets last.
The Saints enter the weekend with a 3-1 overall record, after playing a competitive non-conference schedule. Seward defeated defending D-III champion,

Odessa

(90-86) and topped Northern Oklahoma College-Enid (92-76) last Friday night at the Green House. Sophomore Theron Wilson has been spectacular for the Saints in the first four games of the season.
Wilson
has scored 20 points in the first-half in the Saints last three games. This season,
Wilson
is tied for the Region VI scoring lead averaging 25.8 points, and ranks fifth averaging 9.8 rebounds per game.

|
Saints guard, Michael Tyree, is off to a hot start during his sophomore season averaging 18 points per game. Tyree is the third in the Region VI with 15 three-point field goals and ranks 10th in the Region VI in scoring.
Seward
County
is averaging 91.8 points per game offensively and is holding teams to 70.5 points per game. In addition, the Saints are out-rebounding their opponents by nine rebounds per game.
The Clarendon Bulldogs return three players on their 18-man roster. Last season, Clarendon led the NJCAA in scoring offense averaging 113.6 points per game. The Bulldogs racked up 2,954 points in 26 games played in 2005-2006.

. The Beavers most impressive win came last Saturday night at No. 6 Coffeyville. Pratt defeated nationally-ranked

70-57, on the road with Bryce Simon (20 points), Robert Moores (15 points), Rochard McAfee (12 points) leading the way. Pratt has a well balanced scoring attack with six players averaging 13 points or better this season. Simon is listed among the top players returning the Region VI for his sophomore season.
Trinidad State College enters this weekend’s classic with a 3-2 overall record. The Trojans have battled top competition early this season taking on No. 24 Howard College and

who combined recorded a 59-10 record in 2005-2006. Trinidad has posted wins over

(79-56). Trojan sophomore, Joe Fisher a 5-foot-10-inch guard from
