SAINTS HIT 16 THREE-POINTERS, DEFEAT TRINIDAD STATE 99-55
The Seward County Community College men’s basketball team shot lights out from three-point range in the second-half and had scoring from all 12 players in uniform as they defeated Trinidad State College 99-55, on Friday night at the Wendy’s Classic.

scored 10 three point buckets in the second-half shooting 10-of-19 from long range to run past the Trojans at the Green House in Liberal.

took the lead 20-19, with 8:38 remaining in the first-half. That is when the Saints went on a 24-7 run to finished the first-half, taking a 44-26 lead into the locker rooms for half-time.

was led in the first-half by Theron Wilson who scored 18 points with nine rebounds in 18 first-half minutes of action.
In the second-half, the Saints pulled away leading at one time by 46 points (78-32) with 8:06 left to play. Every player on the Saints roster played in at least seven minutes with every player scoring a field goal.
Wilson
was held to 21 points after receiving his third and fourth personal fouls of the game early in the second half. Wilson would eventually foul out of the game after playing in only 21 minutes (three minutes in second-half) and scoring a game high 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field, 4-of-4 shooting from the free-throw line and grabbing 10 rebounds with three assists, two blocked shots and chipping in one steal.
SCCC freshman Darko Cohadarevic scored 19 points in the game, with 15 points coming in the second-half. Cohadarevic posted his first-career double-double with 11 rebounds going with 19 points. Saints sophomore guard, Michael Tyree, scored 16 points with three assists and two steals.
The Saints also relied on the hot shooting hand of sophomore lefty, Martrelle Patterson, who scored 14 points, knocking down 4-of-6 from three-point range. Patterson’s four three-point field goals is a career-high for the Liberal native.
SCCC shot 16-of-39 from three-point range, totaling their most three-point buckets this season.

shot 49 per cent from the field (38-for-77), 41 per cent from three-point range (16-for-39) and 88 per cent from the free-throw line (7-for-8).
Trinidad
State
was led by Andrew Ravenkamp (14 points and three rebounds), Zach Smith (seven points and five rebounds) and Bernard Melvin (six points and two assists).
