TALLIES 33 POINTS & 22 REBOUNDS IN SAINTS VICTORY

men’s basketball player Theron Wilson scored 33 points with 22 rebounds in the Saints 111-75, victory against Newman University J.V. on Wednesday night in
Wichita
. The Saints pick up the non-conference win in impressive fashion defeating Newman University J.V. by 36 points on the road.
Seward
County
improves to 6-1 overall this season in non-conference competition.

Wilson
continues his stellar season scoring a career-high 33 points and recording a career-best 22 rebounds. Wilson was dominating shooting 12-of-16 from the floor, 2-of-4 from three-point range, 7-of-13 from the free-throw line in 32 minutes of action. His career-best night also included four steals and two assists. The 6-foot-5-inch sophomore from
Topeka
,
Kan.
, posted 27 points and 13 rebounds at halftime.
The Saints scored 53 first-half points behind 54 percent shooting from the field (19-for-35).
Seward
County
owned the boards out-rebounding Newman 54-to-26 in the game.
Wednesday night was the Saints first game on the road this season. Seward’s shooting touch didn’t seem to miss the home court shooting an eye-popping 72 percent from the field in the second-half (21-for-29).
Also posting a career-high in scoring was sophomore Michael Tyree, who hit for 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field and 6-for-7 shooting at the charity stripe. Tyree was also on top of his game with a career-best five steals and marked four rebounds and three assists.
Other Saints in double-figure scoring was Hank Harris (12 points and eight assists), Darko Cohadarevic (11 points) and Bryson Hampton (10 points and eight rebounds).
Newman
University
received scoring from 11 players, with high-point honors going to Colton Dryzmalla (15 points) and Cyle Barnwell (12 points).
Seward
County
will continue their non-conference schedule this weekend traveling to
Pratt
,
Kan.
, for the Pratt Thanksgiving Classic. The Saints will play on Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. Friday the Saints will take on Jayhawk East opponent
Cowley
College
and on Saturday against Sterling College J.V.
