RYAN STOCK NAMED SAINTS
ASSISTANT MEN’S BASKETBALL COACH
Seward
County
Community College
has announced Ryan Stock as the new assistant men’s basketball coach. Saints head coach Bryan Zollinger will begin his first season with the Saints in 2007-08 with Stock as his assistant coach on the sideline. Stock joins the Saints men’s basketball program after two years as the assistant coach at
Eastern
Arizona
College
in Thatcher,
Arizona
, while competing in the Division I NJCAA Arizona Community College Athletic Conference.
Seward County Community College Athletic Director Galen McSpadden commenting on the hiring of Stock.

With his background as a player and coach at the NCAA Division II and NJCAA levels, Coach Stock brings to the table both coaching and recruiting experiences which will only compliment head coach Bryan Zollinger. I am very impressed with Coach Stock both as a person and coach and am excited about the leadership and direction of the men's basketball program."
Stock helped guide
Eastern Arizona
to their first ACCAC conference title in 12 years this past season. EAC finished their regular season with an 18-4 conference mark, earning a co-championship along with
Arizona
Western
College
for the league’s top record. EAC lost in the Region 1 Tournament championship game to Arizona Western, finishing their season with a 23-7 overall record.
Stock assisted the
Eastern Arizona
program to a 46-15 overall record during his two years in Thatcher (23-8 in 2005-06), posting the best two-year school record in over 50 years. He has coached six All-Conference selections, four All-Region 1 picks and two players who have been named a NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American (Marcus Palmer, 2006-07; Ervin Youmans, 2005-06). In addition, Stock’s head coach at EAC, Tim Parmeter, was named the 2006-07 ACCAC Coach of the Year.
Stock also spent two years coaching the Missouri Rockets (Boy’s 16-U AAU Club team) and one season assisting at
Lincoln
College
(NCAA D-II) in
Jefferson City
,
Mo.
He graduated from
Southwest
Baptist
University
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management, with an emphasis in Administration.
Stock played three years of collegiate basketball at SBU, where he was the starting point guard, two-year captain and an All-Conference selection. Stock remains in the SBU all-time record books for career assists and steals. Stock was a standout prep player at Kickapoo H.S. (
Springfield
,
Mo.
) where he was a First Team All-State selection and a Mr. Missouri and USA Today McDonalds All-American nominee. Following high school graduation, Stock spent his freshman year of college attending and playing basketball at
Rockhurst
University
.
