men’s and women’s tennis teams dominated
Hutchinson
Community College
yesterday in a dual match at the SCCC Tennis Courts and
Blue
Bonnet
Park
in Liberal. The Saints defeated the Blue Dragons 7-0, losing just four games in singles play and three doubles games. Overall the Saints recorded a 76-7 score in the seven matches played. The Lady Saints were equally impressive posting a 7-0 match record against the Lady Dragons. The Saints finish their fall season with an 84-47 record and the Lady Saints conclude their fall season with a 45-29 record.

County
Community College
cancelled their match with the Saints scheduled for Saturday. The Cougars will make-up their trip to Liberal with a dual against the Saints and Lady Saints this coming spring.
Saints freshman Shawn Hodge finished his first collegiate season in style with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Zach Bradrick. Hodge completes the fall season with the best singles record for the Saints (9-1 overall).
Seward
County
singles players Ivan Michelli and Charlie Salter each recorded 6-0, 6-0 wins, and SCCC sophomores Roberto Gomez and Luis Cabizuca each tallied 6-1, 6-1 victories against the Blue Dragons.
Michelli and Yamamoto teamed up for an 8-0 doubles victory over Matt Brock and Ryan Withrow.
Valerie Stevens posted the only straight set shutout over
Hutchinson
with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Kasey Ellis. Stevens, a freshman from
Midland
,
Texas
, finishes the fall season with a tie for the most team victories in singles play (9-3 record). Herrera was the only other Lady Saints’ player to win nine matches this season (9-4 record), after a 6-0, 6-1 win against Carrie Hukills.
Alyssa Larson and Stevens picked up a doubles win (8-6) over Taylor Kenyon and Allie Osner. Sophomores Sanela Dejanovic and Herrera also notched a doubles victory with an 8-5 win.
