RELEASES 2007 VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE

head volleyball coach Bert Luallen has announced the 2007 Lady Saints’ schedule. The 24 date schedule is highlighted by five home matches and two non-conference invitational classics that will be held at the SCCC Green House. The 2007 season will begin on Aug. 24-25 when SCCC hosts a five-team Kick-Off Classic.
Seward
County
will also play their first Jayhawk West Conference match in the month of August on the 29th, against
Butler
Community College
at the Green House.
Seward
County
is coming off a 23-25 overall record in 2006, where they finished in third-place in the Jayhawk West and runner-up at the NJCAA D-I Region 6 Tournament.
The
Seward
County
volleyball program is no doubt battle tested after last season playing 14 nationally-ranked opponents. In 2007, the schedule remains a challenge, but will welcome new destinations for the SCCC program in non-conference competition.
SCCC will take off Labor Day weekend, but will return for action in their Region 6/Jayhawk West opening match on Sept. 5 at
Cloud
County
Community College
. Then after a non-conference invitational at
Colby
Community College
(Sept. 8), SCCC will play two consecutive home matches against
Lamar
Community College
(Sept. 10) and Colby C.C. (Sept. 12) at the Green House.
Seward
County
will make their first appearance at the Northeastern Colorado J.C. Tournament on Sept. 14-15, in
Sterling

Colo.
The Lady Saints will remain on the road on Sept. 17 for a conference match at Dodge City C.C. and will finish their road trip with a three-day invitational at the Wyo-Braska Shootout held at
Scottsbluff
,
Neb.
, and
Torrington
,
Wyo.
The Lady Saints will also appear in non-conference invitational classics at Midland (TX) College and Missouri State University-West Plains.
The SCCC Invitational, which many consider one of the premier invitational classics in the nation, will once again be loaded with national contenders on Oct. 12-13. Seven of the eight teams have already been filled for this year’s field which includes

, Western Nebraska C.C., Barton County C.C., Hutchinson C.C. and the Lady Saints.
Seward
County
is slated to travel to both Hutchinson C.C. (Oct. 3) and Barton County C.C. (Oct. 24) for Region 6/Jayhawk West Conference matches this season.
Hutchinson
is the three-time defending champion of the Jayhawk West Conference and
Barton
County
won the NJCAA National Championship in 2003.
Post-season play begins with the NJCAA Region 6 play-in-match scheduled to be played between Oct. 29-Oct. 31. The NJCAA D-I Region 6 Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 3-4 and Region 6 Tournament champion will advance to the NJCAA D-I National Tournament, Nov. 15-17, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
