SEWARD COUNTY PREPARES FOR UPCOMING SEASON
The
Seward
County
Community College
volleyball team is on campus and preparing for the 2007 season. Along with two-a-day practices, the Lady Saints are taking on the SCCC challenge/ropes course this week. The challenge/ropes course includes low and high element team building exercises that demands leadership and cooperation between all individuals.
The Lady Saints’ challenge/ropes course workouts began on Wednesday and their final session will be on Friday. The course sessions are being taught by SCCC instructor Greg Scruggs.
Seward

’s volleyball roster this season includes returning sophomores Alex Droogsma (
Denver City
,
Texas
), Jazmin Hernandez (Liberal,
Kan.
), Katy Troutman (
Broken Arrow
,
Okla.
) and freshmen Jenna Ginest (Stafford, Kan.), Vanessa Kraft (Ransom, Kan.), Chelsea Myers (Salina, Kan.), Mallori Proffitt (Dumas, Texas), Jelena Simic (Lazarevac, Serbia), Dan Yang (Beijing, China) and Heather Zerr (Ulysses, Kan.).
The Lady Saints will open their season hosting the Jolies Images SCCC Kick-Off Classic on August 24-25 at the Green House in Liberal.
Seward
County
will make their debut on Friday, Aug. 24 against Cisco J.C. at 1 p.m. and will play New Mexico Military Institute at 7 p.m. Friday evening. SCCC will finish competition in the Kick-Off Classic on Saturday, Aug. 25 hosting

College
at 11 a.m. and Garden City C.C. at 5 p.m.
