freshman Dan Yang has been named the NJCAA D-I Region VI Player of the Week. Yang, an outside hitter from
Beijing
,
China
, was the top player for
Seward
County
at the SCCC Kick-Off Classic. Yang collected 52 kills (5.71 kpg.), a .352 hitting percentage, 34 digs and 19 service aces. She was the only player from SCCC to be named to the Kick-Off Classic All-Tournament Team.
The NJCAA Division I Region VI Player of the Week is an honor given to the top player who was nominated from one of the six division I volleyball programs in the state of
Kansas
(Barton County C.C., Cloud County C.C., Colby C.C., Hutchinson C.C. Garden City C.C. and Seward County C.C.).
Yang recorded 10 services aces against Cisco J.C. last Friday, tying the SCCC all-time record for most aces in a match. She then posted 29 kills against Garden City in the final match of the SCCC Kick-Off Classic, placing her second all-time in SCCC history for kills in a single-match.
