Kan.
Seward County tallied a .331 hitting percentage and tied a season-high eight team blocks in their conference road victory. The Lady Saints improve to 4-2 overall, 2-0 in the Jayhawk West Conference and to 1-0 in NJCAA D-I Region VI competition.

The contest started with a battle in game-one as

defeating the Lady T-Birds, 31-29.

started slow with a .175 hitting percentage (16 kills, nine errors, 40 attacks) in game-one.

controlled the match in games two and four posting a combined hitting percentage of .500.
Cloud
County
was able to extend the match to four games with a narrow 30-27 victory in game-three.
The Lady Saints were led by freshman outside hitter Jelena Simic, who collected her first career double-double with 17 kills and 15 digs. Freshman outside hitter Dan Yang recorded a team-high 27 kills and chipped in nine digs.

SCCC freshman setter/right side hitter Chelsea Myers posted a career-best 30 assists and nine kills.

sophomore setter/right side hitter Alex Droogsma had 27 assists, eight digs and five kills.

played well defensively at the net with freshmen middle hitters Mallori Proffitt (five blocks) and Jenna Ginest (three blocks) leading the way. In addition, freshman defensive specialist Heather Zerr added a team-high three service aces.
The Lady Saints will enter non-conference competition this weekend at the Colby Community College Tournament in Colby, Kan.
Seward
County
will open competition on Saturday, Sept. 8 against
Otero J.C. (10:30 a.m.) and will continue play against North Platte C
.C. (12 p.m.) and Colby C.C. (2 p.m.).
Seward County will play Otero at Colby High S
chool and the following two matches will be played at the Colby Community
Building.
