Katy Troutman (left) and Alex Droogsma (right) have been named the NJCAA Libero & Setter of the Week, respectively October 12, 2007 TROUTMAN & DROOGSMA NAMED NJCAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK The National Junior College Athletic Association announced on Wednesday that Seward County Community College sophomores Katy Troutman and Alex Droogsma were named the NJCAA Libero and Setter of the Week, respectively. Droogsma, for the second straight week, was named the top setter after distributing an average of 5.6 assists and 1.9 digs per game last week. Troutman also earns her second national libero of the week honor this season averaging 4.9 digs per game. The Seward County volleyball program has now had three players earn national player of the week recognition five times this season. Droogsma, a sophomore setter from Denver City , Texas , collected 18 assists against Hutchinson and 21 assists against Frank Phillips College . She has now posted 20 matches with at least 20 assists this season. Droogsma is currently 25th in the nation in total assists (719). Troutman’s week consisted of collecting 13 digs against Hutchinson and 21 digs against Frank Phillips College . The 5-foot-4-inch libero is ranked 14th in the country in total digs (457).
