LAST OF LADY SAINTS SIGN LETTERS OF INTENT
The final three unsigned Seward County Lady Saints Basketball Players inked their national letters of intent last week and will continue their athletic careers at four year universities. Reagan Broadie signed first and will attend Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Vannessa Simmons was the next Lady Saints hoopster to sign as she put her John Hancock on the paperwork of South Alabama University. She will join a Jaguars team who won 21 games a year ago and that plays in the Sun Belt Conference. Karen Brown was the final Lady Saints Basketball player of 2008-2009 to sign. The sophomore from Republic decided to go a different route than her other teammates as she will take her athletic abilities to Montana State University where she will compete in track and field for the Bobcats.COMPLETE STORY...

TWO LADY SAINTS SIGN AT DIVISION ONE SCHOOLS
On official signing day across the nation, two Seward County Lady Saints Basketball players have signed their name on official Letter of Intents to play at Division One universities. Amanda Pierson put her John Hancock on paperwork from the University of Arizona where she will play for former University of Tennessee National Champion Niya Butts. LaNell Taylor will take her talents and vibrant personality to the University of Texas at Arlington next season. Taylor, a sharpshooter from Houston, Texas will join a Mavericks team who reached the WNIT Tournament last season. COMPLETE STORY...

BARNES AND PIERSON BRING IN REGION VI HONORS
The NJCAA has announced that two Seward County Lady Saints have been named to the 2008-09 NJCAA All-Region VI basketball team. Rachel Barnes and Amanda Pierson were named to the team after combining to be the best inside combo in the league. Barnes receives first team honors after averaging 13.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.6 steals a game as a freshman in 2008-09. Pierson shot 51% from the field on the year as she scored 12 points, grabbed 6.1 rebounds, and 2.4 blocked shots per game for the 28-6 Lady Saints. COMPLETE STORY... NJCAA All-Region VI Selections

LADY SAINTS FALL IN REGION VI FINAL BY TWO
With a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament in the balance, the Seward County Lady Saints and the Hutchinson Lady Blue Dragons hit the court Monday night at Koch Arena in Wichita in their third matchup of the season. In both teams conference opener in January, the Lady Saints flew out to a 24 point halftime lead and won the game by 18 but in the second matchup between the two, Hutchinson turned the table on the Lady Saints and beat Seward County 66-64 in the Green House. With Seward having won nine straight and Hutch having won 13 of their last 14, Monday night’s championship game was sure to be one to remember. COMPLETE STORY... BOX SCORE

PAIR OF LADY SAINTS NAMED KJCCC ALL-CONFERENCE
The KJCCC has announced that two Seward County Lady Saints have been named to the conference All-Conference Team. Rachel Barnes and Amanda Pierson were named to the All-Conference team following solid seasons for coach Toby Wynn and the Lady Saints. Barnes found her way onto the 1st Team while averaging 15.1 points and 8.4 rebounds a game including five double-doubles in conference play, as well as leading the conference in steals with 48. Pierson received 2nd Team honors after averaging 13.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest, as well as leading the conference with 49 blocked shots and 57% shooting from the floor during conference play.

LADY SAINTS/BREAST CANCER AWARENESS WIN SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE "PINK" HOUSE
About a month ago, the Seward County Lady Saints Basketball Team traveled to Concordia to face the Lady T-Birds of Cloud on a nine game win streak and boasted a perfect 4-0 conference record. Behind a relentless effort on the glass, outrebounding Seward 52-38, Cloud handed the Lady Saints a stunning 87-71 loss. Seward County had revenge on its mind Saturday night at the Green House and that is just what they got as they came out in the first half with 57 points against a Cloud team that averaged giving up just 51 points a game in conference play. JIM LITTELL HEADED TO NJCAA HALL OF FAME
After posting a 418-61 record in 14 years at the helm of the Lady Saints, former Seward County Community College Women’s Basketball Head Coach Jim Littell will be inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame this Spring. The Burden, Kansas native coached the Lady Saints to national prominence in more than a decade at Seward. He was named Jayhawk West Coach of the Year nine times, NJCAA Region VI Coach of the Year four times, WBCA National Coach of the Year once, and NJCAA National Coach of the Year once. Littell averaged more wins per season (29.85) than any other active or inactive head coach who coached 10 or more seasons in NJCAA history. COMPLETE STORY...
